I have no skills and need a Tech school that actually teaches subjects that help one find employment or offer certification that is real. Most of the educational avenues I have checked only want you to take a loan or get a grant or something else. I want a place that can teach me something that will help me actually get a good job. Please help!

Connected to our high schools are alternative schools that both students and adults can attend for a reasonable fee. Vocational training in auto repair, food service, child care, hospital lab work, etc. is offered.

There are computer tech schools and other types of tech schools. Research them at your library. (There are catalogs that feature their curricula, and most have a Web site.) Their career offices help you find a job once you've completed a certificate or degree program. DeVry is a well-known tech school that might have a campus near you.

I live in N.Metro Atlanta. Specifically, Cherokee County.

So what type of job interests you ? There are heating and air, plumbing, electricial trade schools, There are schools to learn air plan machanics or be a airplane pilot, There are cooking schools to be a chief. I even operate a martial arts school and I get paid to teach people to be marital arts teachers. There are a lot of truck driving schools.

But yes, most will require you to pay for the lessons, this is either done by loans or grants or paying for it yourself.

If you can get a job depends on how much you will accept ( how low pay you will take) if you will move if you have to , to get a job, how for you may drive and more.

I'm a woman who has been a housewife for 25 years. My husband died recently and I am not old enough to get his Social Security, but too old and unskilled to compete in the current marketplace. I am thinking something like a medical tech. It is not that I don't want to pay to be educated, I don't want to pay for services that are never rendered. Lot of cons out there trying to get your money for nothing but a good pitch. I know! I see the sites you sent (thank you) and will check them out. It is hard to tell which are reputable but surely I can find out. Thanks again for the answer and the information.
