I don`t know, and I advice everyone not to accept anything without evidence. The person, who claims from the Deen something it is not authorized from Allaah`s Messenger -sAaws, is innovating something, which is rejected. To recite Quràn is good, and maybe some sufi has wanted to give someone a reason to do it more, but as Nabii -sAaws- said: "Every newly invented matter is an innovation, and every misguidance is in the Fire." I`m not saying you can tell a person he`s going to the Fire, but I`m just saying always ask for their evidence. If they don`t produce it, then tell them they don`t have a right to call to it, but if it`s OK in the Shar`iyah, like reciting Quràn a lot is, and making it a fixed amount for yourself, then it`s according to Sunnah, and there is no harm in that. WAllaahu a`lam.
