I would like to keep some Anonymity for some reasons, I am from Pakistan / Karachi.
My question is (its a common thing in families), If your parents are fighting amongst each other, and your father is hitting your mother and vice versa in response your mother is hitting your father, and both abusing each other and not stopping. And the child can't just stand and their and watch them continue fighting as it is completely morally wrong.
What is the stance that their child witnessing all this is suppose to take ?

If I were to defend mother and use force against father, I feel I am doing wrong and that my mother is at fault too.
And when I try defend father, and pull him away from mother he just hit mother using more force, and it appears that he is at fault.
Moreover, when I try to calm one person down, they just won't listen and continue raging on each other.
So my question stands, what is the best stance that a child (20 years old now) can take against his/her parents ?
