    Try to be positive
I am currently looking for a new job. I do like my job, but it is extremely quiet. I need more challenges and with the company not making any money, my boss could decide to close. I know for sure I will not get a wage rise with there being no work, so I am not going to progress on to anything better.

For interviews, how can I get across why I am looking for a new job, without giving away anything negative. I have a meeting with a big company arranged for next Thursday. Should I just say I am looking for new challenges? Plus the company/line of business has no dress code. So, I was thinking smart casual? Getting my hair done tomorrow as well. Most people in these type of jobs wear jeans/trendy stuff. So, maybe some smart jeans, and a nice shirt or a long skirt and boots, and nice shirt.

It would mean a lot to me to make a good impression to this company as I would really love to work there, I want to come across as confident. I am starting a confidence building course on Saturday, so at least I can get a quick insight before Thursday. Any thoughts on things, would be appreciated : )

Dress just slightly above where they dress, shake hands firmly, look at the person when you speak and talk in a warm tone of voice, being frank. A good fit is important and when it doesn't fit, better to take action than let your job performance deterirorate -- so bravo for you! I just left a cushy corporate desk job for something more honest and active, said that very thing in plain terms and was hired at the end of my first interview.

You can always preface your negative remarks with "I don't care to give anyone a black eye but to be candid here..." (that usually gives the interviewer a cue to pay attention too LOL and they know this is said in confidence too). Good luck!

When going to ann interview, you always want to look polished, smart and proffessional regardless of the relaxed work atmosphere. You want the interviewer to know you take this seriously. She'll explain the dress code to you later on. As for being positive, think and talk well about yourself. Tell her/he why you think you are prefect for the job. Describe you qaulities and your experiences. Nerever repeat never trash yourcurrent boss. Tell them the truth that you are looking for a position that has room to grow and that's why you are looking for a job with this company. Then them you've researched the company you are applying to and you think it will be perfect fit.
Also try to relax and be yourself. I know it's easier said then done. Be honest about your work history and your experience. Havbe a listof references with you as well as any certificates of any training you've completed. Make sure your references are okay with your perspective employer calling them. Usually they send out cards for them to fill out. It's usually a good udea if the references are work ones.
Always get there a few minutes early to relax and find the office.

Good luck and I wish you success
