Bridging connections lets computers connected to a network through one connection share the connection with other computers over a second network adapter.
In practice you are at a meeting and there is one wired Ethernet connection available and 5 people who need to have access to the internet. By plugging in to one laptop with a network cable into the RJ 45 jack and then bridging this network connection to the laptops wireless card you have in fact turned the one laptop into a wireless access point and you can then join the other computers to this new network, giving all 5 people access to the internet.
