I use Internet Explorer and often have a number of windows left open, each with a number of tabs open in them (to simultaneoulsy use the internet for work, school and personal tasks). However, this inevitably bogs down my computer. I can't really limit my tabs/windows without having to start from scratch on every project though, and really do need to keep them open for days at a time while I continually work on everything.

Is there something I can do to help my machine not get bogged down? More tabs in a single window or more windows without tabs, or a different browser or ad-on? Or just deal with starting over every time I sit down or change tasks?

How many tabs in total are we talking about here ?
If you are "bogging down" due to numerous tabs being opened simultaneously then an increase in RAM would be one of the first things to consider.

If you could give more details concerning your machines specs and why you need to have these tabs open for days on end, that would be most helpful.

I have an Alienware M15X, 3 GB RAM, 2.27 GHz Processor.

The tabs I need open the longest are those for school. All my work is online, and each reading is a separate link. Usually 10-12 tabs open for the readings for each of my 2 classes. But I need them to stay open while doing research, then to reference and pull data from while writing papers. Each class has 3-5 tabs I need open in order to refence the assignments and discussions as well. As I only get an hour or so per day to work on them, I'd like to keep them open vice re-opening every link each time I sit down to do any work.

Have you tried using Chrome? It's easier on memory.
Not many web-savvy people use IE any more unless there are apps written for it.
