    Websites are being hijacked in Firefox. How do I get rid of these hijacking pages?
    I am using Firefox. I type Facebook.com into the address bar and wind up with webfetti. I type in gmail and wind up with webfetti. If I hit the back button the correct opening page will appear. How do I get rid of these hijackings?

    You can start by download the free version of Malwarebytes.org. Boot into Safe Mode and install it and run it.

    Thank you NeedKarma. However, I have never knowingly installed Webfetti and it is not in my Add/Remove list. Neither is the toolbar that is mentioned in most of these Google solutions.

    You've got yourself a nasty little infection. If you are comfortable getting into the guts of Windows you can try this: PC Hell: My Web Search Removal Instructions

    Or else do a System Restore to a date before the malware infection.

    I have the same problem... usually I can just type in "face" and hit enter and it takes me to Facebook... now it redirects me to another site!
    It's frustrating.

    I ran AVG, Malwarebytes and a rootkit scan thingy... none of them worked.

    Thanks for the suggestion of system restore NK, I forgot about doing that.

    One good one is called ComboFix. I have used it countless times to clean up computers. When malewarebytes fails, this usually does the trick.
