Every time, lately, that I open a new web site, there is a message that says that the site has moved and is being redirected. This only began a couple of weeks ago and I am trying to figure out why! Surely not every web site has moved. Any explanation will be appreciated.:confused:

I know of a couple of viruses that do that, they are relatively harmless to your computer and information.

Download Malewarebytes and install it, do a quick scan and remove any infected files. Download and run Combofix, follow the directions exactly or it could harm your computer. If these do not solve your problem, run a program called HiJackThis and post the results back here.

I am running a full scan with Malwarebytes and, so far, after almost 2 hours, no infected objects have been found. I am afraid to use Combofix after reading all the directions. Is there no other way?

Combo fix will not harm your computer if you just shut off your virus protection, and let it run. It may require you to install Recovery Center, but that is Microsoft software. The recovery center is to fix the computer if anything goes wrong with combofix. Don't run any programs, or interrupt the process and you shouldn't have any problems.

With malewarebytes, usually the quick scan picks up 99% of the viruses and only takes about 15 minutes depending on hard drive size. I usually run a full scan after I am done just in case.

I ran malwarebytes, which found 2 items, but I still have the same problem. In fact, I have another which I forgot to mention: When I Google something, all my results are from the UK. Thanks!

Run HiJackThis, and post log.

Run ComboFix, I think that will help a lot.

I have the log. How do I post it? I also had them remove the 170 infected areas that I had! Did I do the right thing? I hope so!

Hijackthis! It removed 170 files and programs and I still have the same problems. But I would like to send the Hijack log to you. How do I do that?

Hijackthis doesn't diagnose any problems. It is just to show you what's going on, and if you see any problems you're supposed to use the program to get rid of it. Removing that 170 files may actually have harmed your computer, that's why I wanted you to post the log, so I could take a look at it for you.

SuperAntiSpyware should pick up on anything that malewarebytes missed. By the way, did you update malewarebytes before you did your scan?

Don't worry about HiJackThis any more. But just for future reference, when you do a scan, there is a button that says "Save Log." You can save it anywhere you like, I think it saves as a text document. You then open it up, copy everything written there, and then paste it to a post here.
