    I can't access eBay
    Recently I have been unable to access eBay. I have found various help topics for this but am having trouble following them

    It is suggested that my 'Hosts' may have been tampered with and I have tried to look on :
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts by opening with notepad but it only gives me a 'Sample' of the hosts NOT my Actual hosts

    Can you help please and keep the reply as simple for me as possible. I use Windows XP

    First, make sure you purge your cache (Tools>Internet Options, then Delete Temp Internet Files). Next go to Start>Search and look for any E-Bay cookies and delete them.

    ScottGem - thanks for your very speedy reply. I tried this but without success. I finally found a discussion section on eBay (albeit, I couldn't view all the site properly because of the problem and everything took ages) but I discovered that someone had fixed the problem by going to Internet Options> General Tab> Settings> Check for Newer Versions of Stored Pages > checkbox Every Visit.

    Hey Presto - it worked straight away.
