Hello, I am going to try not to be wordy... really. My parents are 90 years old and still desire to live independent (even after each of them have had a broken hip), I bought a security video system with dvr to keep check on them. I can connect (and access) to the static IP using other types of internet with no problem.

But when I try to connect using Verizon wirelss card (only internet available to me @ my home) I connect to the dvr, but when I put in the password I get a c:\programfiles\internetexplorer\iexplore.exe

I have spent hours on-line with the dvr techies at Q-See (dvr tech), and a not very helpful verizon tech.

Any help would be greatly appreciated... Kelly

Are you using a different computer at home as well as a different Internet connection method (wireless card)? If so, I'll guess that you're saying Internet Explorer crashes and the error message contains "c:\program files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe". So, I'll also guess that the camera's initial page contains an Active-X control or Javascript that is causing IE to choke. Some things to try on your home computer would be updating IE to latest version, updating Sun Java to latest version, or configuring IE to use other VM - Microsoft VM or Sun VM (Tools > Internet Options > Advanced).

If you meant something else, post back.

Thanks for responding to my question. It is the same laptop. I can sign on to the dvr site using internet at work or other, sign off that connection, sign on again using verizon card, and get that error every time.

You'll probably get a better response in the future to a question like this if you give sufficient details. In particular tell us:

* What exactly does "get a c:\programfiles\internetexplorer\iexplore.exe" mean? Presumably this means you're getting some kind of error message or set of behaviors. Post the precise wording and content of the message (and/or nature of the behaviors) because that will be an important clue to someone offering you effective help. If it's not referring to an error message or set of behaviors what do you mean by it?

* What Verizon card are you using? (including model number)

* What version & service pack of Windows are you using? What version of Internet Explorer are you using? Have you checked the system requirements for the site?

* Are you running firewall software on your laptop? How about antivirus software? (and if so specifically which software packages)

* Have you tried accessing the site with Firefox or Opera (this won't work if the site uses ActiveX controls)?
