    Hello, I am new to this site. I need help in designing my own avatar. It's just a basic black background with a silver Infinity avatar about 61X61 pixels. If anyone could help I would really appreciate it. Thank you JA

    There are websites to go on to make avatar's there's that website I think its either called www.msndollies.com or www.mytheme.com and its somewhere on there.

    For something simple like that, with even entry level photo editing software you can change the colors and do some editing of something you find on the net, like from here:

    Do you have any image editing software?

    Then if you need somewhere to store that image so you can link to it, try Photobucket

    I don't think I have any of those software you mentioned.

    Not that savvy with computers or Internet terminologies I'm afraid.

    Thank you though, I will try the links you guys have provided and see how I go from there.

    Simpliest way:

    1. Search the internet for a picture you like. If the picture is owned by someone you should really ask their permission before using it. Save this picture to your computer.
    2. Resize the picture to something small. I tend to use 80 pixels by 80 pixels. This is also the maximum for an upload to this site.

      To do this either download a program to help you do it or use a tool on the web. For a nice simple graphics program, you can't beat Paint.Net
      As for an online tool: try this page.
    3. Now you should have your avatar ready. Open your profile for this site by clicking on the "My Profile" link near the top.
    4. Choose the "Edit photo" link on the left.
    5. In the "Custom Photo" section will be a text box labelled "Upload a Photo From Your Computer:". Press the browse button next to this box and select the avatar you previously created. Hit OK.
    6. Press "Save Changes". Your avatar should now be ready to use.


    Hope that makes things a little clearer.
