Using Wood Studs with Metal Studs
I am in the process of adding a guest room and bath in my basement. The currect wall studs are metal. I have never worked with metal stud before therefore I am wondering if I should continue with metal or can I use wood as well. The current studs look like they are 24 oc. I have to frame in a door and two walls but I need to know if I can use wood with the existing metal or should I continue with metal.

    Thanks

You can absolutely use wood studs with the metal.
If you attach wood to metal, go buy self tapping screws to secure them together. Secure the metal stud to the wood.

Metal is easy to work with but they are now more expensive per stud compared to wood. Finish up with wood.
