    Interior paint cost
I have purchased a 1200 sq ft house 2 bed/2 bath, lr and kitchen. I have been getting estimates on painting the interior. Currently the walls are neutral in color and I have selected neutral colors. I doubt any wall will need two coats as I am using a top quality paint. The woodwork is white and will be painted white. There are 9 doors in the house that will be painted. The estimates I have received run in the $2500 range. I think this is way too much. Is $25.00 per hour a fair price for labor? I will furnish the materials. The house is empty so there is no furniture to move. I estimte 5 days to complete the job.

Painting costs vary from state to state but here in Va. I charge $2.50 per square foot for labor and materials.

25 per hour is fine if you can find someone willing to do it for that price, like a day laborer, or a painter willing to do some side work.
