How do I restore a Corian countertop to its original color?
I have a Corian countertop in my master bath that has yellowed with time. (The house was built in '91.) It's (or it was) white with turqouise swishes (can't think of the word!). I'm getting the house ready to put on the market and that countertop is definitely not a selling point. I can't afford a brand new countertop, so is there a way to restore the white on/in the existing countertop?

If it is Corian it did not yellow. The closest color in Corian that I can think of is Olive Mist. This color was discontinued about 1991. It had a few olive veins in a off white back ground. Depending on the cleaners or polishes you may have applied, there could be a yellow film on Corian. To check if it is Corian Olive Mist, look at the bottom of the counter. If there are more predominent viens of olive then it would be Corian. In an inconspicuous place try a little sanding with 400 grit sand paper. If it looks better, wet sand the entire top but only if it is Corian ore true solid surface, If you have cultured marble do not attempt this.

    I hope this helps
