I don't know which will be the best to buy new curtains or to change to blinds, if I choose blinds I want to hang a chiffon curtain on top as well. Advice ?

It is hard to know what is best to hang without seeing the places that you are going to put them.

If you have really nice woodwork, then you might want to just put in blinds with no curtains. My woodwork downstairs is all oak and very nice. All I have is blinds because the quality of the woodwork speaks for itself. It is nice to show the character of the wood. I have thought of an accent such as curtains of some kind, but have not done anything yet with that. I would still want to show the nice oak woodwork.

Im a big believer in blinds over curtains.

We've done exactly that in our house - in the nursery we have a blackout blind with voil hanging at both ends to soften the look (and stop the light creeping through) and downstairs we have gone for Roman blinds which have the same soft look of curtains but work like blinds.

I would say curtain... esthetically better then blinds for home.

Go for blinds because they are available in a wide variety that suit to any type of room décor. However, if you post any pics of the room then it would be better to advice.
