I was in an automobile accident, the individual provided me with the policy number only but did not give the name of the insurance carrier, is there a way of finding out the insurance carrier through the policy number ?

Contact YOUR carrier, you need to do so anyway. They can track it down.

Why would you leave the scene without the driver's name, address and Phone #, Insurance carrier and policy # and his license number and registration. You have every right to SEE those documents to take down the info.

The police in many states should know, and it may be in the police report that was done. In GA for example, it is recorded with state and the tag info. The police can d a check easily
