    Hi, chris.jackson!

Are you asking about doing it yourself, or for a business that does that sort of thing on a regular basis to do it, please?

    Thanks!

It's usually covered by comprehensive and sometimes it's covered in full even if you have a deductable. Call your insurance company and report a claim and you'll get a claim number and instructions. They may have specific recommended shops to use.

    Generally you have 3 choices:

    1. The window can be repaired. Yes. Repaired. Usually for chips and not cracks.

    2. The autoglass company will replace your window where your car is parked during normal business hours.

    3. You take it to an autoglass shop and they replace it.

Usually glass coverage is zero deductible if you have comprehensive. Contact your insurance agent and see just what is entailed in getting yours replaced.

In my case, I have lets say 500 deduct for comp ( windshield)
So if the windshield costs 600, you pay them 500, the insurance issues a check for 100.

Often if your deduct is high, look at used windshields from salvage yards, the last couple I got were less than 250 each ( installed)
