Can I file for unemployment after workers comp benefits run out?
I was collecting weekly workers comp benefits for about 5 months when they decided to deny the claim on the day of a phone hearing with the commissioner for surgery. My question is can I now file for unemployment?

Did the company formally lay you off? If not, then chances are not good you will be approved for UE benefits. You can try.

See a WC attorney and file an appeal for WC ASAP.
