On TD, need to move to F1
Hi I am applying for a Graduate degree, currently on a TD visa, but my husbands TN visa is changing more frequently now, and we have few questions:
1> To Study do I need an F1, or can I apply with my valid TD (it is valid till march)?
2> Can I start with my TD and then move to an F1 should my husband lose his job, with his field of IT he can still find jobs easily but sometimes it takes few weeks before we can transfer to another TN?
3> I will study regardless of my husbands status and thus we want to change/apply to a status that bests suites our situation.

    Thanks,
    Dunia.

    1. you can attend school as a TD.
    2. you can change status to F-1 from TD, please note the time it takes for an F-1 to be approved is often problematic with maintaining authorization to study.
    3. COS to F-1 if you think his TN status is likely to be interrupted. Check with the FSA.

    Good luck.
