    Optional Practical Training program
    HI
I'm a International student on F1 and I am graduating this summer 2008. I have applied for OPT on July 7th 2008.
I contacted the customer care on sep 17th regarding the status and they have raised a service request on my application for a biometrics thinking that it is an application for the green card .
So now the application is with the background chek unit. The application processing will be on a hold, till the background chek is completed. So, how long will can I stay legally in united states of america. My opt starts on oct1st and I haven't received anything from uscis.

    Thanks,
    Srinath

Get your case number ready and call 1-800-375-5283 (TTY 1-800-767-1833)

Normally it takes approx 90 days.
