    Derivative citizenship
    I came to the us in 1978 as an lpr. I was adopted in 1979 by my father. My biological mother became a citizen in 1985 and my father in 1986. I was 15 and 16 at the time (I was 8 when I came in 1978). My parents never applied for a certificate. I am now 41 am I a citizen and can I applied for a us passport?
