Changing my B1/B2 visa to a work visa
This is my second time in the US this year on a B1/B2 visa. This time, my 1-94 form allows me to be here till Feb 4th 2009. I want to seek permanent employment, and has found a company willing to employ me. I'm a film producer from Kenya and will mostly work on Africa-oriented projects if I work in this company. I have 1 year of study (Diplona in Film / TV) and almost 6 years experience in this field. My question is - what is the best visa to apply for? Do I have to go back to Kenya to apply for that visa or can I change the B1/B2 while still here?

Your employer must start processing your case to the Department of Labor first.. Employment based visa applications are accepted once a year on April, so you can't wait in US, besides, you need to return for consular processing.

If there are some other specific issues in your job descriptions, you may seek different type of visa, consult immigration attorney.

I am dependent of my father who has a g-4 visa and am a student about to graduate from college. I wanted to know if there is any way in which I can stay here to work in the US once I graduate since I cannot apply for an OPT for F-1 visa holders. I do not care if I have to change my g-4 visa status....
