    California divorce, green card
I married a British Citizen December '08 in Los Angeles, He had lost his job & thus his work visa 2 weeks prior, so we married to keep him in the country, and as I was lead to believe, for love. There was no ceremony we just filled out the paper work, and immediately drove it to the immigration lawyer, he wanted it done asap.
Now that he has his conditional 2 year green card (issued in late July) he wants a divorce. I feel used.

I want to know if he is going to be able to stay in the country if we get a divorce? It would be hard to prove the marriage was fraud because we had been dating for 2 years prior, and I thought it was for love at the time.
What other ways is he going to be able to secure his green card or a visa? Can someone else sponsor him? Can a clever lawyer keep him in the country even with a divorce? Can he immediately marry someone else? Or is he definitely going to be deported if we get a normal divorce? Or do I need to file a special divorce? I need some advice because I want to make sure this isn't able to remain in the US, leaving me a 26 year old divorcée.

Nothing much you can do at this point. He may or may not be able to remain in US as a resident depending on circumstances, and evidences he has, with assistance of immigration attorney of course.

What you should do is proceed with the divorce and once it's final, you report to USCIS and withdraw your sponsorship. If you can report to USCIS before March 2011, it's likely that he will have to leave the country asap or go through removal proceedings.

You are not the only one in this situation. Many Americans were "used" and many ended up victims of domestic violence, fraud, etc.

Forget him and move on... Good luck.
