Do you have a light to go with the fan? If so it will depend on what wire colors come with the light, So give me more details

You must first determine which of the wires in the ceiling box is the hot and which is the neutral. If you have a ground wire in the ceiling box you can do this with a volt meter by checking for voltage between each wire and the ground. It is unlikely however that you have a ground. Recommend purchasing a volt sensor such as shown. Available at home centers. Separate wires, insure that they are not touching any thing. Turn switch on and hold sensor close to each wire. Connect black to hot and white to neutral. Connect green and bare to ceiling box.
