Step by step to hook up LCD TV without cable
We just canceled our cable and only want the regular channels, but when we turned all the equipment back into the cable company, we are unable to get any channels. I think we have to reprogram the TV but I do not know what to do.

Thanking you in advance for your help

I can't give you step-by-step instructions without knowing the make and model of your TV, but in general you need to do this:
    1. Hook up antenna (This will generally be the same coax connector that your cable box was hooked to)
    2. Select "Antenna In" for your connection (probably set to "Cable" now)
    3. Select "Auto Program"
    4. Select "Digital Channels Only" (if this is an option)
    5. Scan for channels

Steps 2-5 are performed in the "Setup" menu of your TV. Probably called something like "Channel Setup" or "Initial Setup".

    Hope this helps,

I would like to add that if you only downgraded your service and still have service (but just the basic) that you will still want to select "cable" as your type.

Also note that if you are connecting to an antenna, depending on the specifications of the TV, you may need a set top box (sometimes called a "converter box").
