    Put the blame where
I purchased a Panasonic 50" LCD 4 months ago (caught it on sale). Just installed it in basement on weekend of memorial day. After the weekend TV was not watched again until June 4, 2008. Then on June 7, 2008 went cut the TV on and there was a black square with different color lines running through it. Panasonic refuses to accept it as a manufacturer problem and I'm stuck with a TV I can't watch. Does anyone know what could have caused the problem and what repair is necessary. The main question is will it be expensive to repair?

Something has impacted the screen, causing the Liquid Crystal Display to break.

The color lines you see is the liquid leaking out of the broken LCD.

Not sure of the cost of repair, but it will probably be costly.

It does not sound like a factory defect, which is why Panasonic won't take responsibility for the problem.
