    PhillipsMagnavox TV/VCR universal remote control
    I have an old PhillipsMagnavox TV/VCR (model No. CCZ192AT32) and I lost its remote control. I do have a number of "universal" remote controls (one of which is also a PhillipsMagnavox) however, they don't see m to work with the TV set. Do I need to do anything specific to the TV or the "universal" remote control? Please help. Thank you.

    You don't have to do anything specific. The only thing you have to DO is to keep trying the different codes. Some remotes have different codes for the TV and a different code for the VCR. I doubt you will find a remote that uses one code for both TV and VCR. You will need to consult the enclosed pamphlet that gives you the codes and the instructions on how to activate your universal remote.

    Try this.

    Turn the TV on.

    Press "code search" on the remote and hold until the LED lights up on the remote, then press the TV button.

    Slowly, press power off button until the TV shuts off, then press enter.

    Careful not to go to fast, as you will have pressed the off button to soon to be able to press enter, and will have to start all over again.

    This should work, but I have to tell you it could take over 200 presses of the off button, before you get to the correct code.

    If you have the manual that came with the multi-brand remote, you can also try those codes as twinkiedooter has suggested.
