Panasonic model th-42px80u will not power on. The outlet is functioning.
The outlet works when other things plugged into it. The power cord looks brand new, no nicks/kincks. Makes no noises at all and it's as if it is getting no power at all.

Is there a red standby light? If so does it blink when you plug it in? How about before or after you try to power it on?

Okay, that's a problem. Haha. Make absolutely certain that the power cable is secured to the back of the TV. If so, then you could have a bad power supply or a bad main board. You will want to call Panasonic or the retailer you purchased from to see if it is still under warranty to have it serviced.

Thanks. It isn't under warranty any longer. Any idea how much this repair might cost?

Well, assuming it is just the main or the power supply you'll probably be looking at $200-400.

Call around to get an estimate though.

I know GeekSquad has a promo where it's only $150 for labor plus whatever the part is, nothing more (except tax).
