    How to hookup DVD recorder to receiver & TV
    I cannot record to my DVD player/recorder, but I can watch a DVD. I have the following euipment: DISH HDTV/DVR; Samsung DVD-R135 recorder; Yamaha HTR-5990 receiver & Samsung HDTV. How can I hook this stuff up?

    The DVD-R135 has an HDMI out; Component out; AV1 In; AV out & S-video
    The HTR-5990 has two HDMI in; one HDMI out; component DVD, DTV, CBL/SAT in & monitor out; S-video & AV in DVD, DTV, CBL/SAT, VCR1, DVR/VCR2 & VCR1 out; DVR/VCR2 out
    The HDTV has: Component in & out audio; S-video 1 & 2 in, AV1 & 2 in and out; HDMI in

    Do you have the owner's manual for the Yamaha HTR - 5990 Receiver?

    Read through the connections sections again. You need to set the input from the dish to both TV and Recorder.

    If I get a chance later today, I'll see if I can find the manual on the web.
