    How to hook up system
    Can you help me hook up my system so it will play my dvd's & record what is on the TV. I have satellite from directv, sony projection TV model rmt-v231b, phillps dvd+rewritable model dvd-r3390, and a sony av system box theater model rm-aau013. I have it hooked up, but I can only get the dvd to play, but not record anything off the TV.

    You don't want to think of it as recording from the TV, The TV is last in Line.
    I would have out of Sat to Input on DVR, into AV Receiver then TV. If Projection has multiple inputs, could use different input and not go through receiver. It will work many ways.
