Does it matter what brand of USB cable I use to connect a computer to a DAC?
I am buying a DAC (digital-to-analog converter) so that I can play music files from my computer on my home audio system. I want the highest audio quality, but am not sure whether it makes any difference whether I use a cheapie or one of the audiophile brands (Kimber, AudioQuest, Tara Labs, etc.)?

I have heard differences in analog interconnects and use audiophile level ones there, but from what I can gather from my readings, a USB cable is a USB cable - so it should matter what "quality" or brand - ?

    Thanks for any help!

I would get a cheapie to start with, some Dollar Tree stores have them. If you are happy you only paid $1. If not, get a better one.

Trying a cheapie is not a bad idea, but you will probably want a gold plated cable. Conductivity is better with gold plated.
