    You have to know the resistance of the circuit to be able to answer your question. Amps and volts are measurements of two different types of value.

    Sorry but it does not work that way, you need a 3rd piece of info. This is like me saying in a speed calculation that you went 60 miles per hour so how far did you go. Without know how long you drove you will not get your answer. You need to know watts too. Electrical & Electronics, Ohm's Law, Formulas & Equations

    E = IR, or volts = amps * resistance

    You have been of no help. I answered your question of amps times volts. It is 55. So can you answer this? Can I use a 5.5 volt weed cutter with a 10 amp extension cord?

    Your electrical math is very incorrect. Cords and equipment voltage have no bearing. I have never heard of a 5.5 volt weed cutter that would plug into a 120 volt cord. Exactly what do you have? 5.5 amps? That would be reasonable for a cutter. A 10 amp rated cord is for a small house light. Cord should be a minimum 14 AWG rated for 15 amps. "You have been of no help ". You want a reply 4 minutes after you post?
