Silly hubby bought the present I was going to get him
    Help!

My husband went and bought the DVD set that I was going to get him as his "surprise" present, because he saw it on sale.

    Silly man.

Anyway--that leaves me now with most of his gifts bought, but I'm short one gift in the $10-$40 range.

Problem is that every single thing I can think to get him he's already got, or it's waaaaaay too expensive.

While coupons for interesting adult evenings (or even just a footrub or whatever) may be good ideas, we don't generally use those for holiday gifts, but for "just because" gifts.

What I'm asking the wonderful sleuths here on our boards for is help finding something UNUSUAL related to either Dungeons & Dragons or Lovecraft/Cthulhu. I've tried every search I can think of on Google. He has EVERY book. He has most of the Lovecraftian stuffed animals. To give you an idea--the coolest gift idea I found was the game Clue with a D&D theme. Apparently a scarce item--I can only find it for about $75 (or more!).

Any D&D fans out there that know of out-of-the-way websites for rare/old D&D stuff that isn't outrageously priced?

Does this gift HAVE to be associated with D&D? Why don't you get him some D&D minis? They're very cheap, and there's no way he can have ALL of them.

All but the two most recent sets, actually. And having priced those online--it's out of my price range for anything but the commons.

It doesn't HAVE to be related to D&D--but he does have a pretty extensive D&D collection. I was just hoping for some D&D products that weren't the books or the miniatures or dice. I got him the electronic game a couple years ago, and he has the movies, and the coloring books, and all of the books--and I do mean ALL of them. Maybe D&D towels or bedsheets or pencils or throw pillows or SOMETHING.

God knows I can find that stuff for every OTHER hobby out there--just not D&D.

I'm just seriously out of ideas that aren't over $100.

A music dvd? Or a comedian dvd?

A dvd rack, for the special ones he watches all the time?

    Strange and wonderful book ends?

Good ideas redhead... Why don't you get him something practical? Or look for a D&D poster, or picture you can frame.

We have a library, so bookends are kind of superfluous.

Bought a house this year, and actually have a media CLOSET--so a rack wouldn't work either.

I've gotten him 3 music CDs and 2 DVDs already.

This is the weird/funny/lot of thought present. Each of us does something every year that the other just could have in no way anticipated. I was sooooo excited when I saw that the D&D cartoon came on DVD, because I knew that would be "the" gift this year, and he went and bought it. So... I can't tell him to take it back, or that ruins the surprise, and I'm stuck on other ideas.

He loves Star Wars legoes--but the only sets he doesn't have are the $100+ sets.

I have a TON of ideas, really--just not of the inexpensive kind.

Boy toys are good, but some guys like practical gifts too. He might think it really thoughtfull of you if you were to get him a big basket full of his shower gel, deoderant, favorite candy, and boxes of his favorite cereal. Or what about a pizza pan with a homeade pizza kit? Make some pizza, watch the DVD's you gave to him and turn it into a date..

See--it's NOT off the wall at all!

This will be our 14th xmas together.

I got him the "Tool" a few years ago. He's not into cars, so that's out. Not a hunter or fisher either. We already have more pictures and posters than we can hang in our house. We have a full liquor cabinet that never gets accessed. He doesn't need any more clothes, or I'd go for the funny T-shirt idea. We have almost every kitchen gadget you could name. Neither of us is the stuffed animal type. He doesn't even drink coffee!

Just to give you guys an example of what I'm looking for here--a few years ago for this gift, I had a cloak custom made for him with the logo of our online gaming guild. One year he got me "Baby's First Cthulhu" from the Lovecraft stuff. It's almost always something VERY unusual, and somewhat hard to get.

I'm sooooo mad at him because he bought it last week, which left me in the lurch about 2 weeks before Christmas. Silly man--doesn't he know you don't buy ANYTHING for yourself right before xmas?

The practical idea might not be bad. No matter how long you've been together, let's face it, guys can always use more shower gel and deoderant. Would he be into the more practical gift idea, or would he get ticked off? What type is he?

Some of the other gifts are practical--it's just THIS gift that can't be.

    /sigh--I know it's confusing.

Redhead, that's exactly what I'm looking for. The HPLHS is a site I've used several times... but the squidoo site is a new one for me.

Also--I've looked at trollandtoad.com, but other D&D type links would be great!
