    The Quadratic Formula and Discriminant?
    :confused: :( *screams in horror*

    I seriously need help with this problem!!

    3x(squared) +1=2x :eek: this is the formula! -b + - (square root of) b(squared) - 4 ac
    all divided by 2a

    please help!! :confused:

    this is 9th grade algebra!!

    You need to put it into the form ax^2 + bx + c = 0

    then you can put a b and c into the equation.

    Have a go first, we will help you further if you are still stuck.

    subtract 2x from both sides so you get: (^2=squared)

    3x^2-2x+1=0

    the work the problem from there...

    2 +- sqr. root of -2^2-4*1*3
    2*2
