How can I increase my self-confidence?
So, I always have this problem.
Around close or not so close friends, I tend to be a little "bold" or kind of really being myself. Or in other words, I'm not shy around my friends..

So, in our class, all of my classmates are my friends, but there are some that aren't really close. The only problem is during report or standing at the front of the class, I really lose my confidence, and I really get shy. I try to force myself that everything's going to be just fine, but I still tremble. Can it be that I'm not used to see many people stare at me?

I remember during my Science report, when I was the only one reporting about eclipse, I got really shy and was shaking because of shyness. I didn't get high score or finish my report. I just couldn't say a word after telling them the two kinds of eclipses. It might be that they were so quiet, and I needed a little noise...

    Can you please help?

    I would appreciate an advice.

    Thanks.

Since you tend to be "bold" when talking to your friends, when you do reports or etc. just try to imagine that you're only talking to them outside the class. If you find it hard to do, try to perfectly understand your report. Expound everything, especially when you say deep words. Completely understanding what you're saying will make you confident because you will not be afraid of being incorrect. To further increase confidence, try to be humorous during your report. When you hear them laugh, you will think that they like your report furthermore increasing your confidence.

What you get is called "Stage Fright" and most people get it to one degree or the other when speaking to a crowd.

Chouriji is correct. Be sure you practice what you to say before giving a report. Don't practice so much that you sound mechanical, but enough so you have it clear in your own mind what you want to say. How you say it can vary. Humor is OK, especially at the beginning of the talk, and depending on the subject, but stick to the subject.

The more talks you give, the easier it becomes. Being a good speaker is a good skill to have.

You should be able to have your own confidence... that's something which comes naturally.. not something you can get advice... the only advice u'll get is to be positive. Its all in you mind set, think that you control you brain.. your brain doesn't control you!!
