    algebra 3-4 study guide
I have received a study guide for a test I'm having tomorrow and I don't really get anything on it.
    1. sketch a large unit circle. Graph and label the following points on the circle.
    0 degrees, pi/4, pi/2, 180 degrees, 270 degrees, 370 degrees, -135 degrees, -900 degrees, 18 radians.

    2. a) Use the angel in the unit circle to explain, clearly and in detail, how to find the sine and cosine of the angle 225 degrees (find exact values)
    b) Find more angles with the same reference angle.
    c. Use since and cosine in A) to find the sine and cosine of the angles you found in b)

    3. a) Sketch a graph of y=1/3cosx. Use the 5-point method.
    b.) Sketch a graph of y= -3sin(x-(pi/4)). Use the 5-point method.
c.) Find the period and amplitude for the equations in a) and b).
d.) Write at least 2 more equations for a) and b) for the same graphs.

4.Write an equation of a periodic function that has:
a.) an amplitude of 50 units and is reflected across the x-axis.
b.) been moved to the right 180 degrees.
    c.) a period of pi/2

5.) Find tangent of the following using the graph of y=tan(x)
    0, 180 degrees, 90 degrees, -90 degrees, -180 degrees, pi/2, -pi/2, 360 degrees

6.) you have placed $100 in the bank. You are earning 1.5% interest.
    a) Write equations for money in your account after n weeks.
b.) Use your equation to solve for the amount in your accuont after 1 year.
c.) Approximately how many years will it take for you to have $1000 in the account (use logarithms.)

7.) A parabola has the intercepts at (-2,0), (7,0) and goes through the point (1,-5). Find the exact equation for this parabola. Write the equation in both standard and graphing form.

    8.) solve 3x-2y=10.3
    7x=67.1-8y

10.) Find the inverse of the following function
    f(x)=(x-4) squared - 5

    11.) Solve. 5 + 3x = 14
    ----- ------- ---
    2x-8 4x-16 2

12.) Solve for the variables. Show all work in good form.
    a) -3squared+5x=16 b.) 2 to the power of (x+1) =17

    please help!

You're asking some pretty basic algebra and trig questions here. It would be helpful if you were to try to work these problems yourself, and then when you get stuck post what you've done and then we can help you.

Well, here's an answer anybody could use...

Read the textbook or notes. Then re-read. Then re-re-read. Then repeat until understood.

I believe you know what a cicle is, right? Well, there's one step in the right direction. You'll get it eventually.
