Wiring for a RTH110B Honeywell Thermostat
My old thermostat had six wires, blue, red, green, white, yellow, and black. But my new Honeywell RTH110B none programmable thermostat only gives instructions for wiring up to 5 wires (Rh, Rc, W, Y, G). How do I wire my new thermostat using the six previously used from my old thermostat?

Connect the red to RH and jumper it to RC if you are using the same transformer for A/C. Connect the white, yellow, and green to W, Y, and G. Go to the furnace and try to figure out what the black and blue did. How were the terminals they were connected to labeled? If one of them went to the opposite side of the transformer as the red wire, don't worry about it. If one of them went to the reversing valves of a heat pump, study your directions. If they don't say it can be used with a heat pump, take it back.

If you have a heatpump, you have the wrong thermostat. For temp heat put the wires as follow- R- red, W-white. This should give you temp heat. Make sure you have a jumper wire from RH to RC. Tape off the rest of the wires. Sounds like you have a rheem heatpump

Why jumper RC if you don't connect Y?

I have the same problem. The instructions say don't jump if you are using 5 wires. So I put Orange in RH and red in RC. The unit turns on, but blows warm air.

Note, if I put red in RH, the outside unit does not turn on
