Why does the AC air compressor turn on with the heating system?
The fan motor on my air compressor is broken. I have been told my air compressor is an air conditioning unit by the last repair man who looked at it, and he assured me I wouldn't need it until I needed the air conditioner. However, the air compressor keeps trying to turn on when the heat comes on. Called him and he assured me I don't have a heat pump and it should not be turning on. But if it shouldn't be turning on, why is it trying to?

Have Coleman Evcon heating A/C system. Thermostat has setting for fan auto or manual fan but I don't know how it turns on although when temp in the house gets 90 degrees plus the fan goes on automatically. Spooky!! How can I get fan to work if temp outside is 80 degrees or lower? ...
When considering converting from forced hot air to baseboard heat, is it possible to just add piping / water boiler / baseboards and do nothing with the forced hot air system (use it for AC) ?
