Building new home in Dallas. Am looking for advice on how much to invest in AC unit, STD with builder is Carrier SEER 14. I know energy cost will be going up is it worth the money for the higher Seer rating. ALready doing simple things on more insulation and radiant barriers etc.

I am going to replace 2 evaporative coolers with a 3 ton and a 4 ton ac split units Which includes swapping out the old furnaces. I have been given 2 choices amana 16 seer 2 speed compressor of 14 seer trane with 1 speed compressor. Which is best?

I am being told by a contractor that if I use a Rhuud UAND-36JAZ unit which Rhuud gives it a SEER rating of 13 and combine that with a UHLAHM3617 air handler that I ultimately get a SEER rating for the combined unit of 14. Is this true?
