What Size Furnace and AC Unit Should I Consider?
I have a two room condo (approx. 1,000 sf) that shares common walls with adjacent units. My condo also has two thermopane sliding doors that lead to a balcony. No other windows exist. In addition, I have a baseboard heaters in each room. I'm in Chicago where the winters and summers can get brutal.

I'm swapping out a 40 year old heating and cooling system that runs on a double 30 amp circuit. What size kilowatt furnace should I consider? If I go larger than 5KW, I believe I'll have to increase the power. However, I'm curious if anyone thinks that I'm okay with 5 KW.
Additionally, what tonnage AC compressor should I consider (seer and tonnage)?

I'd really appreciate your thoughts. Thanks a lot!

Not being there to take a look would make it nothing but a guess, U need to have a manual J work-up done to determine the size of equipment you need.
A 5kw furnace seem awful small for a 1000 sf home
And if its needed its not that big of a deal to increase the power wires
I feel pretty sure a 7.5/10 kw furnace would get you more heat and not have to run near as long
