    What can cause a burner on a furnace to not stay lit
    Burners come on but does not stay lit. Have cleaned the furnace and vents. Works fine sometimes. Has an electronic ignitor.

    A dirty flame sensor will cause this. Remove and clean the flame sensor with steel wool or sand cloth. Reinstall and see if things don't improve. The flame sensor should be located at the opposite side of the burners than the spark igniter.

I have an older model Night & Day model c100u series 510 gas furnace. The burner won't stay lit when the thermostat kicks on. I replaced the thermocouple but the burner still lights then immediately goes out. Any help?
