    Water in vents.
I had water in my floor vents after a heavy rain last summer. Have gotten to estimates on running ducts through ceiling. One was 5700 the other was 4500. The 5700 said they would pour cement through all the floor ducts throughout the house. The other one said they only fill the actual vents. Was wondering if putting cenemt trough the entire house was necessary and if I need to get additional estimates. These seem high to me but Im the one spending the money. Thanks Nell

What are you going to do for heat and A/C? I assume that your house is on a slab. Why not get rid of the water under the house. That would be proper grading, insuring that gutters and downspouts are clear and possibly pipng down spouts. Extreme case install new drainage piping around foundation footer.

Water has invaded our register vents in slab house [ 1 Answers ]

We've just bought a 2 story slab house in September and after a big snow thaw & a couple inches of rain in the same time, all the register vents filled up with water. Luckily they did not overflow and we pumped it all out. We noticed a cracked tile in one vent, the rest are all metal--as we...
