Tne FAN in the OUTSIDE AC Unit does not come on
I have replaced the DUAL RUN capacitor on my Comfortmaker AC. But still the out side FAN does not come on.

I have tested the fan motor with the OHM meter, I do not see any open.

    The Fan spins quite freely.

What do you think is my problem.

    The Scroll Compressor comes on.

I would check over your wiring for the fan motor and capacitor.

    What was the original problem.

If that unit has a fan speed control switch for the OUTSIDE unit it could be bad. I would see what else it could be before you start replacing expensive parts.

I need the brand and exact model number for the outside unit.

Also follow the wires from the contactor that starts the compressor and the outdoor fan motor and see if they are all connected correctly for the fan.

Next is there 240 volts getting to the fan motor when the compressor is running? Naturally watch out for the shock factor while working on live equipment.

    It is a Comfortmaker, AJ042G41.

Thanks for all your time and help.

Plus to measur the voltage from the contactor, How should I measure?

Put the volt meter across the red coming out of the contactor and what?

None of my manuals show that model number. It seems to be a 42,000 BTU unit or 3 and 1/2 ton. Sorry

Yes it is a 3.5 ton unit.
Any pointer on how to measure the voltages after the contactor?

Again, thank you for your replies and time.
