Thermostat - Honeywell to Hunter - Condo - Not working."
    Hello...

I am trying to replace an old Honeywell T8195B with a Hunter 44110. This is located in a condominium with the A/C unit on the roof and the fan and elec. Heating unit in the ceiling. I have located the thermostat wire in the ceiling and it is split and wired as indicated in this image.

I have reviewed many postings and just can't get this to work. When I re-install the old Honeywell thermostat everything works so I have not done any damage to the system.

    Can anyone help? Thanks.

Looks like you have a heatpump, but the new thermostat is not for a heat pump.

I have confirmed that I have a heat pump. The Hunter 44110 and Honeywell RTH230B that I have are not compatible with a heat pump. Now I know what a heat pump is. Live and learn. Thanks for the help.

Maybe I am wrong after reading your edited post. Can you have an all electric heat pump?

Heat pumps are all electric, just a fancy airconditioner. Put an electric heat pack in the air handler, and now you have electric aux/emergency heat with your heat pump.
