Thermostat control of 2 speed MasterCool A/C
We have a MasterCool with a 2 speed, 3/4 hp blower motor. The control is unusual. When you first apply power, motor comes on low. If you disconnect power for 1 sec, then reconnect, motor comes on high. If you disconnect power for 4 or greater seconds, then reconnect, motor comes back on low. When I was more capable, I built a controller with 2 thermostats, one for the low speed threshold, one for the high speed threshold. The controller used staged relays and RC timing. I can't believe MasterCool would build a cooler with a control box for its 2 speed fan, and not have any dual thermostat available anywhere to control it. I can do it manually by using the above timing with a standard SPST thermostat, but would sure like to go back to total auto 2 speed control. Does anyone know of a thermostat having these characteristics?
