I've never seen a thermostat with a fuse. The only thing I can think of they are talking about is the possible fuse in the air handler or furnace.
-
It certainly sounds like a shorted white wire. It's easy to find out by simply swapping the white for another color if there are any unused wires.
The problem could also be a short outdoors in a...
-
It might be going off on limit due to insufficient air flow. This is a very common problem.
-
Often a vent issue will cause a pressure switch to open & do exactly what you describe. Did your tech check for a good ground?
-
It is possible the only time the odor occurs is when the strip heat is on. That odor is usually described as a hot or burning odor.
-
I could not find any recalls on that model but that does not mean there are none. I suggest you contact the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission at one of these numbers:
Furnace Recall Hotline...

Do you have a volt meter & know how to use it? Without some testing, we're guessing.
-
What type of system is this? (Gas [or oil] furnace or heat pump)
-
Is the heater running? It's going to take more than 15 minutes to increase the temperature 4*. By setting it to change temperature at 5:45, that simply means the heater is to come on at 5:45, not the...

ma0641, "to light it" is a good possibility.
Rob Lowe: Have you tried to bleed it again? If so, what happens? If not, please try to bleed it again. You might not have gotten all the air out.
-
Rob Lowe,
I could not understand your question please rephrase & try again.
-
Drakey112,
After reading your question again, I too would question the fan control settings.
-
Does the fan stay on longer on each run until it runs until the call for heat has ended?
-
The "low boy" furnaces I'm familiar with have the return & supply plenums both on the top of the furnace. Is this what you have?
-
Good come back. Make 'em think a bit!
-
Sure does sound like homework.
-
Good to hear. After a few months, post back in this same thread with an update. It might be something I'll look into.
-
Thanks for the update. Great idea to tie the heat & smoke detectors into the system. Nearly all digital stats have a compressor delay built in. Just thought I'd mention the delay in my original...
-
The furnace & water heater should not be on the same circuit. Not being an electrician, I can't say for sure but I think each is supposed to be on it's own dedicated circuit.
The suggestions I...

On some Nordyne (Gibson, Frigidaire, Miller, etc. etc.) furnaces, the yellow light indicates a flame signal problem. Try removing, cleaning, & reinstalling the flame sensing rod. Clean the rod well...
-
Presuming this to be a boiler & she is actually turning the thermostat up; there are several options. One would be to get a thermostat which can only be adjusted after entering a password. Another is...
-
Start with the thermostat set to "heat" & below room temperature: Is anything happening?
Turn the stat up to well above room temp: Describe in as much detail as practical as to what happens. It's...

Keep me up to speed on progress.

I wouldn't think that would blow the board but stranger things have happened & yes it does sound like a bad board.
-
The terminal is labeled "heat".
-
Oops, guess I forgot the link. Let's try again. http://www.hvacpartsplus.com/images/detailed/0/80M271351449129508d7a298095c.jpg

Here's a link to a picture of the board. The heating speed fan terminal is in the lower right corner. Once the flame has been on for 30-45 seconds, you should get 120v between that terminal & a...
-
Is the outdoor unit of the A/C running? Most thermostats have a built in delay for the outdoor unit after a power loss (including battery change). That delay is normally 5 minutes & if the outdoor...
-
If it were a limit switch, the burners would not come on. You need to measure voltage coming out of the heating speed blower terminal on the board. After the burners have been on for a minute or...
-
As long as the furnace is a gun type, you should not have to do anything to switch fuels.
-
Most likely all you need to do is clean the flame sensor. It is usually a rod in a procelain base & located on the opposite end of the burner rack from the ignitor. Remove the sensor, clean the rod...
-
It's certainly not something urgent. If the boiler is in good shape, I see no reason to rush. What is the make & model. It might be something I'm familiar with.
-
Some air handlers will do 2 or 2 1/2 tons yet are just labeled as a 2 ton. If you will provide the make, model, & serial numbers of both the air handler & outdoor unit, we might be able to determine...
-
Honestly, I've never heard of them but I'm not at all a fan 'standard' electronic air cleaners.
-
I was involved in the fuel oil business for 30 years so my comments are in no way anti-oil or pro gas. With that being said, if I had natural gas available, I'd switch in an instant even with the...
-
You probably have a dirty pilot burner which is normally pretty easy to clean. There are a lot of videos online showing how to do so. Just do a search for "how to clean a gas pilot burner".
-
The problem was likely caused by a failure of the fuel cut-off valve, internal to the pump, failing to close. It's an uncommon, but far from unheard of, situation which is exactly why I prefer the...

Pete,
Sorry for the delay in replying. Somehow I just plain missed your question.
Do you have a voltmeter & know how to use it? If so, there is some basic troubleshooting we can do.
-
Never heard of a "zoro". Do you have a model number?
-
Plug in relays on a furnace? Is this a warm air furnace or a hot water boiler? Does it work properly?
-
To eliminate the thermostat as a possible source of trouble, remove it & connect the wires from terminals R & W together. If the furnace now comes on & stays on, it would indicate a possible...
-
I much prefer free standing humidifiers to those being furnace mounted.
-
Do you have a voltmeter & know how to use it? If so, with a little help from us, you can figure out quickly if the igntor is getting power or not.
-
I'm not exactly clear on what is happening. When you say "blower comes on", do you mean the burner motor or the main circulating fan?
How long is it between these 4-5 ignition cycles?
How long,...
-
I didn't fully understand your question. Are you saying the flame goes out after almost 5 minutes THEN the blower comes on? If so, it sounds like the furnace may be hitting its high limit & that is...

-
Bitters' suspicion is likely correct. You can turn off the power at the breaker or service switch (not the thermostat switch), wait about 30 seconds, & turn it back on. That should reset the control....
-
To start, I would suggest a basic tune up: Replace the nozzle, fuel filter, & pump screen (if applicable), & clean & adjust the electrodes. If that fails to get you heat, post back & we will delve...
-
Make sure your wiring is correct & in tact. Check the exhaust pipe & intake, if so equipped, for blockage. A quick test is to disconnect the exhaust to see if the furnace will light. If it does, the...

WOW! This has to be one for the books. Please keep us up to speed as to how this plays out.
