    r22 freon
What room vent temps should one expect with r22?
I have an old ground mounted compressor, under cover.
Outdoor temps are 100-110f and room temp is 79-80f.
My old Volvo can only get in the low 50's with r134a which is not as efficient as r12.
Is temp. measured as diff between room input vent and air output vent?
Or should you expect a constant output temp like auto AC? Art in Phoenix

You are doing about as good as you can if your ac can get and keep your home 18 degrees cooler than the outside temp

Is this what you are asking?

You should have a 18 to 22 degree split between return air at your filter grill. And the temperature coming out of your supply vents. Make sure you keep a clean filter and clean outside coils with hose and water. Should have this 18-22 degree split at any outside temperature until it starts to get over 100 degrees. Then you can expect efficiency to start dropping off. KEEP A COOL HEAD

I only have about 12 deg diff between in/out vents so I guess it's time to call in the repair man. I thought the ac was cycling on off too much even though we set the thermo at 79/80 deg. With an old inefficient ac it needs all the help it can get with the temps we have. Thx for all the input.
