Pilot goes out when trying to turn on..
I have a wall heater and have had a recent problem. Up until now it worked fine, then after. A few months of no use this happened: when I try to activate the heater by turning up the thermostat, the heater makes a clunk or pop sound, then I check and see that the pilot light has gone off. Burners never turned on either. I've bypassed the wires in the heater to try and turn it on as well without the use of the thermostat and that always happens. The noise, then after quickly looking at the pilot, it gradually dies. I've relit it and tried a dozen times. Does anyone have any ideas about what the issue might be?
