Wood stoves and furnaces are a complicated issue. The first review of the Hotblast that I read on one site said he has to use very large loads of extra good firewood, plus he has a new and heavily insulated house, plus he has to tighten the doors every 2 days. He says he an experienced wood stove person so knows how to pick good burning wood.

I have a small wood stove, and while it is plenty warm around the area of the stove, the heat does not go very far around the house. That's different from your furnace, of course, but some things are the same, one being the huge range of BTUs. I see the range of yours is 52,000 to 139,000. That's more than 2 1/2 to 1. Like saying a car gets 20 to 50 mpg! I'd expect that few people ever get 139,000 BTUs.

As for the heat going up the chimney - plenty of it has to, to carry gasses away, or you are dead.
You could hire someone from a small specialty stove company to come out and give you some suggestions, or go on a stove blog. I did a lot of reading on some before I bought a used wood stove.
