I need to know what is the best way to check of compressor is good?
I have an SCI-120A and been talking to their suppor team and he says the compressor is bad. When I energize the system, I watch the head pressure go up to over 200 psi, and the low pressure side started at about 100 psi and went up too about 150psi.
The evaporator fan does not come on, so I put a fan in front of evaporator and that would bring the low side back down to about 100 psi. I also noticed that the hot gas bypass valve is energized. This does not make any sense to me. They do not send you much information on their systems. |

Heat pump works good on a/c but when I switch to heat it starts OK (big copper line gets very hot) but after 2 minutes the compressor shuts off (condenser fan stays on) After about 8 minutes the compressor starts again then shuts off after a couple of minutes, the heat pump is a trane 5 tone2001....

Have a new compressor. Just replaced fan runs compressor does not, have voltage at the compressor plug? What could stop from coming on high side and low side equal at 100psig.
